Arab Nat'l Security seminar urges need to address threats collectively

CAIRO, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- An Arab seminar warned of threats and challenges to national security, along with the need to work to acknowledge threats facing food and water security at its conclusion on Thursday.
In its final communique, the seminar urged the importance of working to find a new common and united Arab position on the execution of national security agreements made at past summits.
It called to revise and amend past pacts on the matter, in light of recent developments, particularly the threat of terrorism.
Arab nations were also urged to cooperate in order to resolve their internal dilemmas, and to put more emphasis on comprehensive sustainable development, particularly advancing human development, education, social justice and maintaining the environment.
Attendees also stressed the importance of economic integration in order to achieve comprehensive integration, national security and an acknowledgement of threats to food and water security.
The talks also urged appropriate media coverage of matters that touch upon capabilities on the matter in the Arab world.
The three-day event was attended by a large number of experts in the field of national security. (end) mfm.sd
