AMMAN, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al-Duaij on Monday handed over a KD 30,000 (USD 104,000) donation offered by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to the Gulf Education Organization in the Gaza Strip for financing buildings of Al-Quds Open University.
The State of Kuwait, at the behest of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, is keen on providing aid and support to the Palestinian people, Ambassador Al-Duaij told KUNA.
He added that the embassy in Amman will not spare the least effort to offer facilities and remove any obstacles that might hinder the delivery of "imperative" Kuwaiti aid to the Palestinians.
For her part, chairperson of the Gulf Organization Amena Al-Aaoor, expressed gratitude to Kuwait for the humanitarian aid extended to the needy worldwide, especially to the Palestinians.
She revealed that Kuwait's contribution in the projects and programs of the Gulf Education Organization hits 70 percent and stressed the role by the Kuwaiti embassy in Amman and Ambassador Al-Duaij.
