Cabinet strongly condemns Sinai heinous terror act

KUWAIT, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- The cabinet, in its weekly meeting held Monday at Seif Palace, strongly condemned Friday's terrorist attacks that targeted security sites in Sinai Peninsula, killing over 30 Egyptian soldiers.
As the cabinet voices Kuwait's denunciation of this criminal act out of its principled stance of rejecting all forms of terrorism, it also expresses Kuwaiti leadership and people's solidarity with Egyptian people, said Minister of Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah following the cabinet meeting, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The cabinet also sent condolences to Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi, government, people and relatives of the victims.
Minister Sheikh Mohammad also unveiled that the cabinet has approved a number of appointments in several state institutions.
The ministers endorsed appointing former minister of communications Salem Al-Uthiana as chairman of the board of telecommunication and information technology regulatory authority. They also endorsed the authority's new board.
The cabinet approved the appointment of Fadel Ali as assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Oil.
It also gave the thumbs up to the appointment of the director general and members of the higher committee for public-private sector partnership projects.
The cabinet endorsed the new line-up of the manpower authority. It approved the appointment of 17 graduates as mid lieutenant in the navy and 17 others as second lieutenant in the army.
Earlier, the ministers were briefed about a letter addressed to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. In his letter, Napolitano lauded the recent visit of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
They were also informed about a letter to His Highness the Amir from Guinean President Alpha Conde. The letter focused on bilateral relations and means to boost them.
The cabinet discussed the latest regional and international political developments. (end) ibi
