Man City drop to 3rd in EPL after West Ham defeat

LONDON, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- Manchester City's hopes to defend their title were given a blow as they suffered their second Premier League defeat at West Ham on Saturday and now trail two points behind Southampton and five behind leaders Chelsea in third.
City lost 2-1 away to West Ham in a match where they had been down by two goals up until David Silva's cleverly executed finish in the 77th minute.
The result leaves Manuel Pelligrini's men five points below Chelsea, who could widen the gap to eight if they win their game in hand against Manchester United on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Saints clinched their seventh win in nine Premier League games as Sadio Mane scored his side's winning home goal against Stoke City as they continued their excellent form so far in the English top flight.
Elsewhere, two mistakes by Sunderland handed Arsenal a 2-0 win, while there were draws for Liverpool at home against Hull City and Crystal Palace away to West Bromwich Albion as Swansea City clinched a 2-0 win over a visiting Leicester City. (end) mrn.sd
