Yemeni PM-designate says gov't imminent

SANAA, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Prime Minister-designate Khaled Bahah said Saturday consultations with political parties for formation of a government were finalizing in the wake of distribution of portfolios.
He said in a press statement he agreed with political parties to distribute portfolios on political parties that participated in the national dialogue conference.
Bahah said nine portfilios were given to the General People's Congress, nine for the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP), six for the South Yemen Movement and six for the Houthis.
The President will be appointing the ministers of Foreign, Finance, Defense and Interior, he explained.
Bahah added that the General People's Congress will be having ministries of local administration, fish resources, information, health, youth and sport, human rights, tourism, and two state ministries.
The JMP will be having ministries of planning and international cooperation, transport, awqaf and guidance, social affairs and labor, higher education and scientific research, water and environment, displaced people, parliament and shura affairs, and minister of state.
The South Yemen Movement, said Bahah, would be having the ministries of education, communications and information technology, public works, industry and commerce, agriculture, and legal affairs.
Houthis will be responsible for ministries of justice, electricity and energy, civil service and social security, oil and mineral resources, technical education and vocational training, and culture. (end) az.bs
