One of two US nurses infected with Ebola declared virus-free, leaves hospital

WASHINGTON, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Texas nurse Nina Pham, one of two nurses who contracted Ebola after treating deceased Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, was declared free of the virus on Friday and released from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
Pham was not administered any experimental drugs at NIH, said Dr. Anthony Fauci of the NIH, in a statement.
She received a blood transfusion from Ebola survivor Kent Brantly, Fauci said. (end) rm.bs
