KUWAIT, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Up to three Kuwaiti basketball teams will participate in the second international basketball tournament sponsored by the Kuwaiti Al-Qadisiya sports club, to be launched tomorrow, said on Friday Hani Al-Mulla, organizer of the tournament.
Al-Qadisiya club organized the same event last year with much success impelling it to do the same this year, Al-Mulla told KUNA, noting that interaction between Kuwaiti basketball teams with those of other countries afforded the Kuwaitis a great opportunity to hone their skills.
Starting tomorrow and ending on Nov.3, the tournament embraces basket-ballers from sports clubs in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Lebanon, besides, of course, the host Kuwait.
The opening match tomorrow will be between a team from Kuwait against another from Iran. Later in the day a different Kuwaiti team will play against a Lebanese one.
The champion of last year's tournament was the Al-Qadisiya sports club of Kuwait. (end) ayr.ajs
