MILANO, Italy, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Work on the Kuwaiti pavilion at the site of the Expo Milano 2015 is progressing by leaps and bounds, well ahead of schedule, said General Manager, Participants Division at Expo Milano 2015 Stefano Gatti on Friday.
Kuwait is among 17 countries whose work on their pavilions have taken great strides so far, Gatti told KUNA, noting that up to 140 countries will take part in this gigantic expo slated for opening in the city of Milan between 1 May and 31 October 2015.
The theme chosen for the 2015 Milan Universal Exposition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. This embraces technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity and how they relate to food and diet. Expo 2015 will further develop themes introduced in earlier Expos (e.g., water at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza) in the light of new global scenarios and emerging issues, with a principal focus on the right to healthy, secure and sufficient food for all the world's inhabitants.
Expo visitors, said Gatti, who are expected to number about 24 million, will have a golden opportunity to sample Kuwaiti food and beverages at the Kuwaiti pavilion and get a tactile feel for the Kuwaiti food culture.
He urged Kuwaitis, who are known for their propensity for travel, to come to the expo when it opens for six months to sample food and beverages from around the world. (end) mn.ajs
