KUWAIT, Oct 23 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said Thursday that the parliament's upcoming TV channel, Al-Majlis, aims to complement state television, KTV, "not to compete with it." The channel would add something unique to the Kuwaiti parliament, Al-Ghanim said in a joint statement with Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, during an inspection tour inside the channel's headquarters.
Al-Majlis also aims to deliver its message to the audience by informing fellow citizens about the parliament's latest news, activities, and committees as part of the people's right to be acquainted, in details, with events taking place at the parliament.
Al-Ghanim expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Information and ministry staff for their efforts exerted in the launch of the channel at the specified date.
Meanwhile, Al-Ghanim, along with the information minister, toured the channel's various facilities and sections, viewing the latest preparations and workflow of the anticipated launch of Al-Majlis.
They listened to a detailed briefing by the channel's director Abdulhakim Al-Sabti regarding the studio's capabilities and capacities, expressing their admiration of the studio's distinctive equipment, decoration, and workforce.
Al-Majlis is set to launch on October 27, on the eve of the inauguration of the third session of the National Assembly's 14th legislative term. (end) maa.ma
