DOHA, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- The 17th Asian Club League draw on Wednesday pitted Kuwaiti sides Al-Kuwait SC in Group A, and Al-Qurain in Group B, for the event hosted in Qatar.
The stadium of Lekhwiya will host the tournament, which starts on November 29 and ends on December 8.
Group A includes Qatari teams Lekhwiya and Al-Gharafa, Jordan's Al-Sulta, Iran's Thamin Al-Hijaj, in addition to Al-Qurain.
Group B will pit Al-Kuwait against Qatar's Al-Jaish, Saudi Arabia's Al-Khaleej, Iran's Mayazumi, and Oman's Ahli Sadab.
Qatari Handball Federation President Ahmad Al-Sha'bi said in a press statement after the draw that the tournament, organized by Lakhwiya with participation of 10 teams, will be different this year, due to being an experiment before Qatar's hosting of the World Handball Championship in 2015.
Al-Sha'bi added this upcoming month team's tournament will be played in the newly constructed halls which are designed to host the upcoming international event.
The Qatari official said that the organizing committee will remain the same for the two upcoming events, adding that the draw ceremony was held under supervision of Asia Handball Federation. (end)
