IED explosion woundes 11 outside Cairo University

CAIRO, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- At least 11 people were wounded in an improvised explosive device attack outside Cairo University in Giza governorate, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
The injured includes four officers and two conscripts, while the remaining five are civilians, according to the Interior Ministry.
Minister of Health Adel Adawi, in a statement, described their injuries as medium, adding that he was personally following up closely their cases.
In a related development, prosecution inspection disclosed that the IED, which was remotely detonated, was planted inside a box of a natural gas pipeline, added the Health Ministry statement.
After the explosion, security forces quickly cordoned off the area and security officials said explosive experts were combing the area.
Officials said that Cairo University's Metro was working normally.
It was the second bombing outside Cairo University in the past six months. (pickup previous) rgh.hm
