22 civilians die in air strikes on southern Syria -- monitor

AMMAN, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Up to 22 civilians died due to aerial bombing by regime's aircraft in southern Deraa province late on Tuesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement on Wednesday.
It said six members of a single family died in the air strikes that hit the town of Al-Yaduda in Deraa's rural regions. Seventeen civilians lost their life in such attacks on Nusayeb town in eastern Deraa.
The monitor also reported that 30 fighters of the ISIL, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, were killed in the ongoing fighting for control of the northern Syrian town, Ain Al-Arab (Kobane), adding that 11 Kurdish fighters defending the town died in the latest round of clashes.
ISIL's and Kurdish gunmen have been battling for control of the town since September 16. Coalition warplanes have been bombing the ISIL positions arund the town and dropping arms and ammunition to the Kurds. (end) tk.fs.rk
