KUWAIT, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) and its Chinese counterpart Xinhua have agreed, on Wednesday, to boost cooperation as befitting to the fast growing world media.
KUNA's Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah made an agreement with the visiting Xinhua Editor in Chief He Ping to implement a cooperation accord, signed between the two agencies back in 1993.
Ping pointed out that his country is keen on enhancing bilateral ties with the State of Kuwait at all levels, atop of them is media.
On his part, KUNA chief noted that Xinhua has a great experience that could be beneficial to its Kuwaiti counterpart.
The agreement focuses on exchange of technical assistance, exchanged visits of senior and junior employees, news and photo archive swap and dual coverage of major events across both countries.
The meeting also contemplated the possibility of opening a KUNA office in the Chinese capital.
The meeting was attended by KUNA Deputy Chairman for Administrative and Financial Affairs Abdulhameed Malak, Deputy Chairman for Editorial Affairs Saad Al-Ali, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Cui Jianchun and members of the visiting Chinese delegation. (end) fa.nfm
