Book fair on "Kuwait" opens in Spain

MADRID, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- A book fair on the single subject of Kuwait was opened here on Friday as part of the Kuwait embassy here marking 50 years of Kuwaiti-Spanish diplomatic relations.
A bevy of Arab and Spanish diplomats attended the book fair opening, among them director of cultural relations at the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation who, in a speech, praised the historical relations between both countries.
The Kuwaiti ambassador here Dr. Sulaiman Al-Harbi noted in a speech at the opening the flourishing ties between both countries on a multitude of levels especially tourism and health.
Furthermore director of African and Mideast affairs at the Spanish foreign ministry Manuel Gomez indicated in a similar speech the trajectory of the bilateral relations and their continuing flourish to this day.
Another official from the foreign ministry, Gabriel Al Forno told KUNA on the sideline of the opening ceremony that the fair showcasing books on Kuwait will run for at least three months, noting that the fair is made up of about 100 books, in Arabic and Spanish, that cover the history and culture and development of Kuwait over the years.
He added that there are at least 600 more books on Kuwait that are currently on permanent display at the library of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation. (end) hnd.ajs
