Kuwait judicial delegation visits ICJ, PCA in The Hague

BRUSSELS, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's judicial delegation, headed by Abdulaziz Al-Fahad, member of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Court of Cassation, paid a visit to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in the city of The Hague, Kuwait Embassy said Wednesday.
During the visit, at the invitation of the two UN judicial branches, the Kuwaiti delegation toured the Peace Palace at ICJ, founded in 1899, and got acquainted with procedures of law suits, latest judicial developments and ways of prospective cooperation, Embassy stated to KUNA.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwaiti Ambassador in The Hague Hafeeth Al-Ajmi stressed importance of the Kuwaiti delegation' visit to ICJ and PCA to observe the work system inside international courts, as well as getting acquainted with the international judicial work environment in general, and the Dutch in particular, in order to develop and improve judicial system in Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti judicial delegation is on an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where the program includes a visit to meet a number of officials from the Dutch government departments and international organizations working in the city of The Hague. (end) nk.ma
