JEDDAH, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Regional and Arab developments have been the focus of an extraordinary meeting for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Interior Ministers held in Jeddah on Wednesday.
Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, who presided over the meeting, told KUNA that the meeting had also discussed the existing security procedures in the GCC member states, and preparations for any emergencies.
The meeting witnessed unified stances and views as part of integrated and comprehensive security coordination based on a mechanism that boosts security in the GCC countries from a preventive and precautious prospect, the Minister added.
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, also Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Acting Defense Minister, said the gathering was "very fruitful", adding that the topics they had discussed touched upon peoples' concerns.
Consulting on security developments is vital and what has been concluded by the meeting will push the integrated security course for of the GCC to the better, he said. (end) nh.msa
