CAIRO, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi warned Wednesday that the Arab region is a serious danger and unity among regional countries is required to address it.
"I tell our brotherly countries ... this is the time of coordination, cooperation and cohesion," Al-Sisi said at an annual celebration of Egypt's victory in its war against Israel in 1973.
"When there is a serious danger, we have to be united," he said.
The Egyptian president did not identify or elaborate on the characteristic of this danger.
He also recalled his warning of expected wave of violence and terrorism targeting Egypt.
"I warned against a major threat on its way two years ago," Al-Sisi said, adding that the danger of this threat is minimizing "thanks to the vigilant of Egyptian people, army and institutions".
He touched upon his recent visit to the United States to attend the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly, where he met several world leaders and politicians as well as representatives of the Egyptian community in the US.
He said the world had listened attentively to the Egyptian delegation's explanation of the country's challenges, political roadmap and its role in the region. (end) smg.aff.ibi
