Obama meets Egypt's Al-Sisi

WASHINGTON, September 25 (KUNA) -- US President Barack Obama held a private meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Thursday, a senior aide to Obama told reporters.
This was the first face-to-face discussion between the two leaders, who met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"The president discussed our ongoing concerns on Egypt's political trajectory," said Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communication Ben Rhodes. "They had a frank discussion on those issues." He added that both men agreed to increase their cooperation when it comes to military operations and counterterrorism.
Obama also expressed his support for Al-Sisi's economic reforms in Egypt, Rhodes said. (end) ys.sd
