KUNA releases 9th biannual economic report

KUWAIT, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday released its 9th biannual economic report, in three chapters covering key issues related to the national economy, the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE), local banks and national development.
The report on the first half of 2014 depicts the changes in indexes of various economic sectors over a pace of six months, KUNA's Deputy Chief Editor for Economic News Awatef Al-Hasawi said.
She added that the report, prepared by KUNA's Economic and Petroleum Affairs Department, offers data on the local economic developments based on objective methods with high accuracy and credibility. Data is obtained from reliable sources, she stressed.
The first chapter of the report reviews the changes in the three KSE indices through a technical analysis of their performance, on monthly basis, Al-Hasawi said.
The KSE chapter also covers the changes on the regional and international scenes over six months, as well as the developments at the KSE regarding trading.
As for the second chapter, Al-Hasawi said it reviews the local banking sector, both traditional and Islamic, and the financial results of each bank, comparing them to the responding period in 2013.
The chapter also addresses developments of the banking sector based on data by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
Chapter three of the ninth economic report is on national development, after the end of the first mid-term developmental plan (2010/2011-2014/2015) and arrangements for launching the second one (2016/2017-2019/2020). (end) fnk.tb.msa
