TEHRAN, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarrallah arrived here on Sunday leading a delegation to the first meeting of the Kuwaiti-Iranian Joint Political Committee.
The meeting, to be co-chaired by Al-Jarrallah and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for the Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tomorrow, will discuss the bilateral ties as well as regional security issues.
The committee is affiliated to the Joint Higher Committee; its meeting gains additional significance as it will coincide with regional turmoil and follow up the outcome of the visit by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Tehran in early June.
Al-Jarrallah was welcomed at Mehrabad International Airport by Kuwait Ambassador to Iran Majdy Al-Thafeiri and first consultant of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sayyed Shahbani as well as other officials of the Kuwaiti embassy.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the meeting is made up of chief of staff of the office of Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Ayham Abdullatif Al-Omar, director of the Ministry's legal affairs dept. Ghanim Saqr Al-Ghanim and deputy director of the Asia dept. Mosa'ed Al-Thuwaikh as well as other officials of the Ministry; they will be joined by Ambassador Al-Thafeiri. (end) mw.gb
