PAYS chief proud of OCA honoring of Al-Hamad, Al-Shahin

INCHEON, South Korea, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Director General of the Kuwait Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Saturday boasted about the honoring by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) of two Kuwaiti veteran athletes, Khaled Al-Hamad and Yusuf Al-Shahin Al-Ghanim.
OCA on Friday handed its highest order to Al-Hamad and Al-Ghanim for their efforts in launching a youth sports program at home.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour termed as 'merited' the honoring of Al-Hamad and Al-Ghanim, two pioneers of the Kuwaiti sports scene, in the presence of senior continental and international officials on the sidelines of the 2014 Asian Games currently held in Incheon, South Korea.
He referred to the efforts by both athletes, either in voluntary work or through the official posts they have held, for promoting sports in their country saying they inspire the Kuwaiti youth.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour discussed with officials from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) means of enhancing cooperation between Kuwait and the agency for combating the use of drugs in sports, in a bid to avert Kuwaiti youth such harmful impact.
