Roadside blast kills, wounds three people in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- At least one person was killed and two others were injured in a roadside blast in southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan on Saturday, officials said.
A levies official, Muhammad Tariq told media that militants targeted the vehicle of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) through a remote-controlled bomb in Dasht Tehsil of Kech district. He said that initially three persons were seriously injured in the blast but one of them succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. The blast also damaged the vehicle of the FWO.
According to officials, the militants targeted the FWO workers in troubled Turbat area when they were busy in a road construction.
FWO is an organization working for developmental engineering in Pakistan that includes tunneling, earthen dams, the construction of bridges and roads among other things. (end) sbk.tg
