BEIRUT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Deputy Speaker Mubarak Al-Khrainej arrived here on Thursday where he is expected to hold talks with Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the issue of a Kuwaiti man who was abducted last month.
Al-Khrainej, accompanied by the abducted man's brother, was received by Berri's representative Qasim Hashim and Kuwait Embassy Attache Ahmad Al-Sabti.
Upon his arrival, he told KUNA that his talks with Berri would discuss the issue of an abducted Kuwaiti citizen in late August, along with issues of mutual importance.
Al-Khrainej said he was committed to resolving the situation of the Kuwaiti as soon as possible, expressing hope the Lebanese chief lawmaker's efforts on the matter would lead to his quick release and return home.
He thanked Berri for his welcoming, allowing him the opportunity to discuss the matter and for keenness expressed on the issue amid the depth of brotherly ties between both nations.
He also urged Lebanese authorities to carry out further efforts aimed at the release of the Kuwaiti.
The Kuwaiti man was abducted in the eastern city of Baalbek, and his abductors have demanded a ransom in return for his release. (end) mah.sd
