NEW YORK, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday reiterated his belief that Iran would play a constructive role in Iraq and Syria.
Ban met here the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Zarif to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest, including the Iranian nuclear issue, conflicts in Iraq and Syria, and the human rights situation in Iran.
Ban expressed hope that a comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear programme would be reached by Iran and the P5+1 at an early date. (end)
