ROME, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister (of Kuwait) Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, accompanied by a delegation of ranking officials during the current visit to Italy, has visited headquarters of the Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI).
Nizar Al-Adsani, the Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), welcomed His Highness the Premier and made a presentation about activities of the oil company, the second largest petroleum corporation operating in this European nation.
He boasted of the company's growth and expansion, hoping His Highness the Premier would lend further support for the corporation and its ventures in Italy.
For his part, the KPI CEO, Bakheet Al-Rashidi, along with managers of various KPI's sectors, presented a detailed address about the company's accomplishments and operations in Europe and Asia, affirming that the KPI ranks second in Italy among the oil companies, with a 16 percent stake in the domestic market after the Italian oil and gas company, ENI.
He explained that the KPI has grown after acquiring assets and operations of the oil company, Shell.
At conclusion of the gathering, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak expressed satisfaction at what he had heard regarding the successful Kuwaiti ventures in Italy, lauding the faithful and sincere personnel for serving well Kuwait's interests.
Kuwait petroleum Italy, a KPI's subsidiary, is a major petroleum corporation serving in the Italian market. It operates, in partnership with ENI, Milazzo refinery, capacity of which amounts to 200,000 barrels per day. It also owns 3,500 distribution fuel stations, in addition to several oil and lubricants' plants. His Highness the Prime Minister arrived in Italy on Tuesday, starting an official visit during which he would hold talks with top officials on cementing bilateral ties. (end) mn.rk
