GRANADA, Spain, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- A senior official in Kuwait's national shooting team, currently taking part at the ISSF World Championships for shooting in Granada, Spain, criticized level of organization for men's double trap competitions.
"Holding men's double trap contests simultaneously with women's skeet trainings have reflected negatively on shooters' results," Mohammad Al-Daihani, Kuwait's team's manager, told KUNA.
Flying discs of women's skeet training would pass by men's double trap fields, causing a major distraction to shooters' concentration while aiming at targets, Al-Daihani said, noting that distraction has also caused two-time Olympic medalist Fehaid Al-Deehani to lose his concentration, affecting his results negatively during the competition.
However, Kuwaiti shooters came out with good results in first and second rounds of the championship, the Kuwaiti official noted, adding that combining men's double trap contest with women's skeet training have prevented (them) from attaining advanced places in the rest of the rounds.
Italy won the first place by hitting a total of 424 discs, while US came second by 418. Kuwait hit a total of 401 discs by shooters Al-Daihani, Ahmad Al-Afasi, and Hamad Al-Afasi. (end) bs.ma
