His Highness the Amir receives congratulatory cable from HH Sheikh Nasser

KUWAIT, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday a cable from His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah congratulating him on being named by the UN as Humanitarian Leader yesterday.
In his cable, HH Sheikh Nasser wrote: "Your Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; "It's an honor to me to congratulate you for the title of Humanitarian Leader conferred on Your Highness by the United Nations. "No doubt this is a well-deserved appreciation for the countless contributions you have offered to the relief efforts and the containment of serious political crises in several parts of the world." HH Sheikh Nasser recalled the prominent role of His Highness the Amir in resolving the Yemeni crisis in 1972, defusing the standoff between Yemen and Oman in 1980, ending the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990), supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, alleviating the blight of the Syrian people, promoting dialogue and understanding among civilizations, and supporting international peace and development.
He expressed sincere wishes for His Highness the Amir to continue his noble march for the good of all humanity and for Kuwait to enjoy more stability, welfare, progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
His Highness the Amir sent a reply message to HH Sheikh Nasser in which he thanked HH Sheikh Nasser for his "brotherly initiative and sincere sentiments." He expressed best wishes for HH Sheikh Nasser and "our dear homeland," voicing hope that everybody will be able to contribute to the progress, development and prosperity of the homeland. (end) gb
