CAIRO, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- At least 11 Egyptian security personnel were killed and four others injured when a roadside bomb exploded in their patrol in Sheikh Zuwayed city of the restive North Sinai's Tuesday, state news agency MENA reported.
A security source told MENA that the killed policemen are one officer and 10 conscripts.
The source added that a gunfire battle erupted between a police force and unknown gunmen following the explosion.
The police and military announced state of high alert and manhunt launched to chase the attackers. (end)
