Three suspects in Manila airport bombing attempt apprehended

KUALA LAMPUR, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- Philippines Secretary of Justice Leila De Lima said Tuesday that three suspects have been arrested Sunday after an attempt to bomb Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila failed.
Philippines News Agency (PNA) quoted De Lima as saying that among the three suspects was Grandeur Pepito Guerrero, who was the leader of a group known as the United States Armed Forces in the Far East (USAFFE).
De Lima said that the group's motives were based on their opposition to certain government policies, especially the government's stance against China.
The group was also against oligarchy and certain monopolistic business practices in the country.
The group also planned to bomb a shopping center and the Chinese Embassy in Manila. (end) aab.sq
