Fire extinguished at sulfur warehouse in Al-Ahmadi refinery -- KNPC

KUWAIT, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- A limited fire that broke out Sunday evening at Al-Ahmadi refinery's sulfur storehouse was extinguished, said Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).
When the fire broke out, the bodies concerned were informed to take precautions measures for the safety of workers at surrounding areas, Khaled Al-Asousi, KNPC's spokesman, told KUNA on Monday, adding the fire didn't affect the refinery's performance.
Firefighting units, from Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, the KNPC, Kuwait Oil Company and Petrochemical Industries Company, participated in extinguishing the fire, he said.
The KNPC will form an investigation team to know the causes of fire, he said, adding that the company takes all precautionary safety measures according to international standards. (end) asg.nfa.hm
