MANAMA, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- A UN official on Monday described His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a role model to world in humanitarian advocacy by giving a high priority to humanitarian issues.
The UN's naming of His Highness the Amir as a "humanitarian leader" was well-deserved due to his countless humanitarian initiatives throughout the past years, Najib Fraiji, director of the UN Media Center for Arab Gulf Countries, said during his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Al-Sabah.
Fraiji also noted the UN planned honoring of honor His Highness the Amir during the UN General Assembly's meeting, next month, is an interpretation to his significant role on humanitarian and developmental arenas, as well as an appreciation of Kuwait's humanitarian contributions and stances.
For his part, Ambassador Sheikh Azzam said that His Highness the Amir's naming as a "humanitarian leader" by the UN is a crowning to his march, which is filled with philanthropic and humanitarian work. (end) mga.ma
