Libyan transitional gov't loses control over Tripoli headquarters

KUWAIT, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- The Libyan transitional government announced that it has lost control over most of the headquarters of ministries and other vital facilities in Tripoli, adding that it is now conducting its government duties outside the capital.
The transitional government said in a statement last night that armed forces surrounded the government headquarters, barring the workers from entering and threatening to kill the ministers and their deputies.
The transitional government added that the armed forces directly threatened a great number of state employees, attacked them, and burned down their houses.
The transitional government clarified that it would continue its work from any Libyan city until a new government is formed.
The new government is expected to be based in Tripoli as soon as the armed forces have been driven out. (end) fs.sq
