OIC calls for immediately holding donors conf. to rebuild Gaza

KHARTOUM, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Union of Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) member states called Sunday for immediately hold a donors conference for rebuilding Gaza and to activate direct trade boycott with Israel.
The member states also called for providing urgent support and aid to Gaza.
In their final communique, Palestinian Affairs Permanent Committee said member states called as well for holding the Israeli regime accountable for its outrageous violations to international law and human rights, including the deliberate targeting of civilians during the war on Gaza.
Member states also asserted importance on the Palestinian National Council's proposals of listing Israeli recent aggression on Gaza in the agenda of the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Union's General Assembly, due next October in Geneva.
The members also affirmed on the decisions and recommendations concerning Palestine and calling on all OIC member states to support the Palestinian people financially, politically, diplomatically, and through the media, and to preserve the just Palestinian rights in establishing independent state and Jerusalem as its capital.
Earlier, member states called for bringing to book Israelis who committed war crimes in Gaza and seriously violated the international humanitarian and criminal laws.
Addressing the opening session of a meeting for the Union's Permanent Committee on Palestine, in Khartoum on Sunday, the secretary general of the Union Mahmoud Arol Galig, urged the international community to "speak out and condemn the terrorist Israeli aggression on Gaza." (Pickup previous) hhi.mb
