Obama, Harper discuss NATO Summit

WASHINGTON, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- US President Barack Obama spoke with Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper on Saturday to discuss the upcoming NATO Summit and the situation in Iraq.
Both highlighted "the importance of ensuring Alliance unity on measures to strengthen NATO's readiness and responsiveness to the full range of current and future threats," according to a statement by the White House.
"The President stressed that agreement on increased defense investment in all areas is a top priority at the NATO Summit," the statement added. (end) ak.gb
