1,466 marriage, divorce documents issued to illegal residents in seven months

KUWAIT, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Justice announced on Saturday that the Legalization Department and its subsidiaries issued 1,466 marriage and divorce documents for illegal residents during the first seven months of this year, in cooperation with the Central Agency to address the situation of illegal residents.
Director of the Legalization Department in the Ministry of Justice Walid Khaled Al-Mawash told KUNA that his department has issued 1,094 marriage documents, 335 divorce certificates and 37 other marital documents for illegal residents during the period between last January and July.
He stated that the total number of official notifications registered for the illegal residents category in the country during the same period amounted to 7,326, in addition to 84 inheritance documents.
He added that his department had also authenticated, during the period between last January and June, some 89 marriage documents for Kuwaiti wives married to illegal residents, while the number of marriage documents for illegal residents married to Kuwaiti women during the same period stood at 46.
