Army chief vows to "root out all terrorists" in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Friday vowed that with high quality, professionally skilled troops, "we will root out all terrorists from their hideouts even from the most treacherous and far off areas" in Pakistan.
A press release by media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that COAS witnessed joint Field Training exercise of Pakistan and China Special Forces at Headquarters Special Services Group in northern Pakistan. Gen. Sharif reiterated that Chinese and Pakistan Armies have special relationship, which has transformed over time and is only bound to grow.
COAS congratulated the participants of both armies for successful completion of their joint training exercise and appreciated their high state of morale, courage and professionalism.
Such joint training exercises have immensely helped to enhance the professional skills and operational preparedness of both the armies against terrorism, said the chief.
Moreover, COAS commended the outstanding performance of the troops in war on terror, particularly in Operation 'Zarb-e-Azb' in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan. (end) sbk.rk
