KUWAIT, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRSC) announced Monday that 26 trucks loaded with relief materials have entered the Gaza Strip to be distributed to the war-traumatized Palestinian people, who suffer shortage in basic supplies.
The trucks carried 30,000 relief packages, including food, medicine, water, clothes, blankets, pillows, and bed covers, KRCS' Deputy Chairman Anwar Al-Hasawi told KUNA.
"This is KRCS' biggest aid batch since the start of Israeli hostility on the Gaza Strip on July 8," he said.
He stated that the new aid is part of KRCS's broad campaign to provide Gaza people with their basic needs, whether through the aid airlift it launched recently or through financing the purchase of needed stuff from Gaza markets.
The Society is moving on with providing urgent relief and humanitarian aid to Gaza's residents under the directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (end) akw.tb.ma
