Clashes resume between ISIL, Syrian regime forces

AMMAN, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Wednesday that clashes resumed between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Syrian regime forces near the Tabaqa military airport northeast of Syria.
An explosion shook the Tabaqa military airport in the province of Raqqa followed by clashes between ISIL fighters and regimes forces after an attack ISIL fighters carried out near the airport, the source added.
Meanwhile, Syrian regime's aircraft barrel bombs dropped over areas stationed by ISIL fighters with no information about casualties yet.
The regime forces also shelled the city of Raqqa with two missiles near oil fields in preparation for storming the city for more than a week, the source said.
The regime troops also shelled the eastern regions of Ghota with no reports of casualties so far.
At least 15 houses were confiscated by ISIL organization east of Deir Al-Zour pretext that some of the owners fought against them and the others are still in the ranks of the Syrian regime. (end) ta.ss
