Sponsor countries of Gulf initiative concerned over Houthi's remarks

SANAA, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- The ten sponsor countries of Gulf initiative on Tuesday expressed their concern over the latest remarks made by the leader of Houthi community Sheikh Abdel-Malek Al-Houthi, deeming them as "anti-political settlement in Yemen".
The countries, including the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and European Union, said in a statement that the remarks affect the image of Yemeni government which has been legally formed and are harsh language towards a peaceful transition process of power.
The ambassadors of the ten countries called on Al-Houthi to respect the will of people and law, stressing the necessity of participation of political parties and groups including Al-Houthi community in the transition process of power.
International community will not accept any action aimed at inciting or stirring violence, the ambassadors added in the statement.
Al-Houthi on Monday threatened strongly the government and gave President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi five days to form a new government with the participation of Al-Houthi community. (end) az.am.hm
