CAIRO, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi Sunday called on the United States to support his country's efforts in countering terrorism and achieving stability, safety and peace.
During his meeting with Congressman Darrell Issa, Al-Sisi said that Egypt is currently facing internal and external challenges, referring to the latest developments in Iraq, Libya and Syria, a presidential statement said.
Al-Sisi stressed the necessity of addressing the reasons which led to the spread of "radical orientation" in the region, the statement said.
Poverty, ignoranc, passive role of some media and distorted religious rhetoric are on the top of these reasons, noted the statement.
In this context, Al-Sisi underlined the importance of all cooperative efforts of everyone through an integrated system to correct mistakes and address problems. Al-Sisi spoke about economic challenges in Egypt, stressing his country's keenness, based on its economic developmental plan, on creating an appropriate climate to attract Arab and foreign investments.
Concerning the latest developments in Libya, Al-Sisi held NATO responsible for the deteriorating security and political situations in Libya due to its incomplete military operations, which have left the country without police or national army, the statement added. (end) rgh.am.hm
