GAZA, Aug 1 (KUNA) -- The 72-hours UN humanitarian ceaefire in the Gaza Strip did not stand for long with the Israeli army resuming its attack on the strip, leading to the death of 50 Palestinians and the injury of 400 others, said the Palestinian Interior Minsitry Friday.
The ministry said that the Israeli attack focused on Rafah city south of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military claimed that the resumption of operations was due to the killing of several Israeli soldiers during a suprise attack by Hamas operatives. (end)
