Firing rockets from South Lebanon threatens stability of region - UNIFIL

BEIRUT, July 28 (KUNA) -- The Spokesman of United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Andrea Tenenti reiterated Monday that firing rockets, at one time or another, from South Lebanon towards the occupied Palestinian territories threatens stability and security in the region.
In a press statement issued Monday, he said that the situation in both Lebanon and the region is very acute, adding that international forces are constantly following this situation with the concerned parties.
Tenenti re-affirmed that the UNIFIL received guarantees from concerned parties to stop escalation and preserve calm in South Lebanon.
Unknown people from South Lebanon in the past few weeks had fired rockets towards occupied Palestinian territories, leading the Israeli army to bombard some areas by artillery. (end) aeb.hm
