Zarif urges need for int'l action to facilitate humanitarian aid for Gaza

TEHRAN, July 27 (KUNA) -- Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday urged the international community to take immediate action to halt the heavy Israeli attacks on Gaza and to help facilitate the shipment of humanitarian and medical supplies to Gaza.
In a telephone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Zarif was quoted by Iranian news agency, IRNA, as saying that the Zionist regime is taking advantage of the situation created under the blockade on Gaza and has launched a full scale massacre there.
Setting up the ceasefire should meet the demands of Palestinians who call for lifting the siege on Gaza and for a non-repetition of the aggression, he said.
The Kuwaiti foreign minister, for his part, expressed the hope that continued efforts and coordination among countries in the region would result in an immediate halt of aggression.
He also voiced Kuwait's readiness to provide the Palestinian people with humanitarian and emergency relief supplies. (end) mw.sd
