Israel rejects Kerry's ceasefire proposal

GAZA, July 25 (KUNA) -- The Israeli cabinet has unanimously voted against US Secretary of State John Kerry's proposal for a seven-day ceasefire in Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported Friday night.
The cabinet members, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reject the current draft of temporary truce for seven days during which the demands of both warring parties could be negotiated. They agreed to continue contacts with the US side in order to introduce amendments to the draft in a way that could better meet the Israeli demands and ambitions, according to the report.
The cabinet is expected to reconvene later tonight to discuss the latest political and security developments, the radio added. (end) mzt.gb
