EU calls for probe into W. Bank killings by Israeli forces

BRUSSELS, July 25 (KUNA) -- The EU on Friday voiced "extreme concern" about the situation in the West Bank following yesterday's march at Qalandia where two Palestinians were killed and numerous demonstrators were injured. An EU statement called for "an immediate and thorough investigation into the circumstances and handling of last night's events and underlines the importance of maximum restraint." The statement reiterated that the EU remains closely involved in seeking an immediate ceasefire to end the fighting in Gaza.
