Israeli army acknowledges killing of seven soldiers

GAZA, July 21 (KUNA) -- The Israeli army acknowledged the killings of seven of its soldiers Monday in armed clashes with Palestinian fighters in Gaza Strip in since the past 24 hours.
An Israeli military spokesman quoted by Israeli radio as saying that "three soldiers were injured severely while eight others had medium range injuries, in addition to 19 others who were slightly injured in clashes.
The spokesman said 25 soldiers were killed, among them a ranking officer, since the start of ground operation three days ago.
The spokesman added that the Israeli army decided to acknowledge the killings to seven of its soldiers today after their families were notified.
Earlier, the Israeli occupation army has been continuing its air raids and ground operations on the Gaza Strip for two weeks, leaving over 500 people dead and at least 3,300 others injured. (pickup previous) mzt.mb
