Six militants from Army of Islam killed near Damascus

AMMAN, July 7 (KUNA) -- Six militants from Jaish Al-Islam (Army of Islam) and allied Islamist groups, were killed on Monday in clashes with forces of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in East Ghouta, Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The Observatory, based in London, added that violent clashes were taking place in Mesraba town, East Ghouta, between ISIL fighters and members of what is known as the Islamic Front. It added that the Syrian Air Force jets bombarded areas in the Lebanese town of Arsal, near the Syrian borders.
Meanwhile, the Observatory said that the removal of street barriers in Damascus over the past few days had nothing to do with the regime's "security relief". Only extra barriers set in front of security headquarters were removed. (end) ak.msa
