Turkish fighter jets intercept Syrian helicopter

ISTANBUL, July 5 (KUNA) -- Turkish fighter jets intercepted a Syrian helicopter which flew too close to the border between the two countries and forced it to return to its side of the border, said a statement by the Turkish army on its official website on Saturday.
Two F-16 Turkish fighter jets spotted a Syrian MI-8 helicopter along the country's southern border with Syria, said the statement.
The jets forced the helicopter to clear the area and head back to the Syrian side of the border, it added. (end) ta.ajs
