TEHRAN, June 10 (KUNA) -- Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian described as "constructive" his brief encounter with Saudi Deputy King Salman bin Abdulaziz, on sidelines of Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi's inauguration in Cairo.
Abdollahian said Tuesday there "had been a brief meeting" with Prince Salman "during which we exchanged greetings of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Saudi Monarch, and emphasizing that Tehran and Riyadh seek the goodwell, stability and development of the two countries and region." The two men were in Cairo to attend Al-Sisi's inauguration.
Abdollahian, cited by official IRNA news agency, said he also met with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah.
He said he thanked Prince Abdulaziz for foreign minister Prince Saudi Al-Faisal's invitation for his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to visit Saudi Arabia, and that they have discussed the arrangement of this visit. (end) mw.bs
