DUBAI, June 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti swimmers final results at the conclusion of the Hamilton Swimming Dubai Championship, was a positive reflect of the concrete planning by the federation, Thamer Al-Shamroukh, a leading member of the Kuwait Swimming Federation, said Saturday.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Shamroukh added that due to good results and participation in this tournament, the federation now have a better understanding for each player and can make better plans, including players that did not participate due to schools' final exams taking place at the same time.
Al-Shamroukh said in overall results, Yousef Al-Musallam won a gold medal in the 200-m breaststroke competition and a Silver medal in the 100-m breaststroke.
Swimmer Hussein Al-Zaid won a bronze medal in the 100-m breaststroke competition.
Salman Mandani won two gold medals in the 200-m and 100-m backstroke competitions, and one silver medal in the 50-m backstroke competitions.
Meanwhile, Ali Ashkanani won gold medals in the 200-m and 100-m butterfly competitions.
Finally, Ali Bou-Abbas won five silver medals in various competitions, and one bronze medal in the 100-m breaststroke.
Meanwhile, Al-Shamroukh noted that Mohammad Madoh who played for Dubai Hamilton team, won two bronze medals in the 50-m freestyle competition and the other in 50-m butterfly competition.
Al-Shamroukh praised also the Kuwaiti team's technical and administrative staff for their exerted efforts in this tournament.
Hamilton Dubai swimming championship is considered one of the main internationally recognized tournaments by the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
The championship was held in Hamdan bin Mohammad Sport Swimming Hall in Dubai. (pickup previous) hny.mb
